<p>Not even close. I know of a 3.99 (one A-)/44 from a top 10 uni who was wait listed at Harvard Med.</p>
<p>High GPA+MCAT just make you competitive to get in the door for an interview.</p>
<p>There is no such thing as a guaranteed admission to any med school outside of the combined BA/MD programs and even then you have certain minimums to maintain to continue on.</p>

<p>What determines your admission is the total combination of your application, including your scores and grades, measured against every other applicant/interviewee that a given school has.</p>
<p>by the way, i heard that every year at johns hopkins, one or two outstanding third year undergraduate(s) is/are selected for JH medical school (which means they don’t have to do MCAT or any applicaiont) by recommendation from the pre-med advisors and the professors…Obviously, They have to be LEGIT outstanding… this might not be official but this has actually happened in the previous years.</p>

<p>I think a lot of people forget that at the end of the day, it technically isn’t about having the best grades or test scores or leadership positions. While all those things help to demonstrate your capabilities, ultimately it comes down to the admissions committee looking at you as an entire person and saying “I could see this kid as a doctor.”</p>
