I was kind of lazy for my freshman year. I only took 5 classes and got a 3.1 GPA. Will this hurt my chances when I apply ED to Dartmouth???

I'm trying to make up for my bad GPA this year, though. I'm taking 11 classes (3 of which are foreign languages), but no AP's/Honors classes because they're not offered to freshmen/sophomores. :(

Also, I'm home-schooled and living in Thailand.

Even if you were to maintain straight 4.0s in all of your classes for the next 2 years, it would difficult for you to get into Dartmouth as an international unless you have some pretty amazing extracurriculars to offset your freshman grades. Also, 11 classes? Isn’t that overkill?

Hi, thanks for the response!

I’m not an international student. I’m an American, being home-schooled by an American home-school academy. (I’m going back to a U.S. school for my junior/senior years.)

And 11 classes actually isn’t that bad for me because I’m home-schooled and have LOTS of extra time on my hands. :P
