does williams college need extremely high SAT1 score? if i didn't get a very high score, does that mean i have little chance to be accepted?what's the most important factors during admission?

Williams rates all applications on a 1-9 scale (1 being the highest) and the SAT is only 1 factor albeit a significant one. Under ordinary circumstances (no hook like urm, legacy, athlete, etc) it would be significantly less likely that a score below 1350 gets admitted. The average was around 1418 last year. You did not state what you scored and you may have many other positives going for you that could counter balance a lower SAT.

I got 590 on verbal and 740 on math, 790 on chemistry and 740 on math1 and physics. verbal score is not high because i'm a Chinese student,English is not my native language. i don't know whether the admission commitee will consider this situation?

Well, there are other international students out there whose native language isn’t English either, but still end up getting a 700+ on the CR section. If you could just bring that up a bit, your chances would definitely increase.

Wow you do realize you are responding to a post that was made five years ago?

Although this is an extremely old post, could anyone speculate on a 1290 (690CR 600M) score for Williams? My chances are pretty low to begin with, being a white male from Massachusetts (lol), but who knows.

well I just got an early write from williams today…my SAT scores are math-680, W-640 and CR-610 NOT PERFECT AT ALLLLLL!!!

Just be sure that your essays were good. My early write had a note that said, “We really enjoyed your writing. Well done!”

Its all in the essays!
