How important is the third subject test at Georgetown?

Hi,

I have taken a few subject tests. I’ve gotten 800s on Math II and US History; however, my next highest are 690s on Chemistry and World History, both from sophomore year.

I will be applying regular to Georgetown. Would you recommend I send Georgetown only the first two 800s? Or should I also send them one of the 690s? If I did so I was leaning towards sending the one in Chemistry because it seems like a better score.

Thanks!

I highly recommend you send all because Georgetown requires you to send all scores you have. See https://uadmissions.georgetown.edu/firstyear/preparation, where it says: “Georgetown University does not participate in the Score Choice option available through the College Board. Georgetown requires that you submit scores from all test sittings of the SAT, ACT, and SAT II Subject Tests.”

Two things:

  1. Georgetown says they “strongly recommend” (a.k.a. basically require) three subject tests, so do it.
  2. Georgetown requires that you send all of your standardized testing history anyway, so send them all.
