How inadequate sleep before SAT DESTROYED MY score

Advice to avoid insomnia:

Do some kind of physical exercise each day.
Before going to bed, do something like yoga or meditation.
Drink camomille tea before bed.

Thank you all for the advice :)

Yes physical exercise is what I will do.

Sorry, but I love bashing ad-hominem fallacy arguments on welfare:

"You destroyed your score. You are responsible for your own welfare. Don't blame something that cannot possibly even defend itself. You are in control of your life. It is very topical for me to say to you, "Wake up and smell the coffee!" "
I love these types of responses for the amusement I derive from them.

Sleep can be influenced by external factors. "You are in control of your life"- to postulate that one can control every factor in the context of sleep is absurd

"Don't blame something that cannot possibly defend itself"- my sympathy goes out to you, innocent "sleep"...LOL

"You are responsible for your own welfare"- you must not be a fan of FDR :)

"Wake up and smell the coffee"- I could smell it more clearly if it weren't for the putrid scent of arrogance in this response :)
LOL
At least I did not destroy my humility

OWNED! PWN3D!

No Hyper2400, you did not even come close to "PWN"ing him. he's right. You could have stayed home from school, or you could have just gone to sleep earlier. If you know you have insomnia, make sure you at least get adequate sleep thursday night. You should also know what gets you to bed the best by now given your insomnia (I have mild insomnia and I know how to get to bed if I need to, via excercise etc.). It is your fault. Get over it. This is not like FDR giving welfare to those who do not have a job because there are no jobs available, this is you not doing what you need to do.

I committed an ad hominem... Hardly! I am not attempting to belittle you. I am trying to help you. You control your sleep and if not then go to a doctor. If you knew you had a sleeping problem it was your responsibility to get help before this test. My advice: Exercise during the day. Go for a run or ride a bike for an hour or so. Take a nice hot bath on the night before the test and listen to your favourite music to relax. Trust me, exercising in the day contributes to better sleep and more relaxation. If you were able to do well on the practice test and you can award yourself with self-accolades for that, then at least admit to responsibility for getting a score you didn't like. :)

Sirwatson1- I apologize for misinterpreting the intent of your post.

NJPitcher- You are absolutely right! My comparison to FDR was indeed illogical (a fallacious analogy). I'll get myself to bed nicely the night before the SAT.

:)

And besides the practice test was easier than the real thing. So I'll just make sure I read more (which I do now) instead of seeing my score difference as a man v. nature issue.
