Lack of sleep and SAT/ACT practice

So this summer I've been super busy with summer assignments and what not (I go to a library and work on my school stuff for 6 hours straight) plus SAT/ACT homework, Tae Kwon Do, etc. etc. you get the picture. Because of this, I go to bed at 1 AM almost every night (it's 1:20 now lmao) and wake up at 9 AM (to get my stuff done). Due to getting less than 8 hours a night I've noticed my scores drastically decrease. On the first two math ACT tests I took in the official study guide I got 33 and 34 respectively, but as of the third test I got less and less sleep, so I only managed to score 30, 29, and 31. Same thing for the SAT; I usually only miss two on a math section, but today I missed like 5 questions and skipped two, bringing me down to 620-680. My question is: is all my practice wasted?

No, you should try to get more sleep. Change your sleeping habits. For example set an alarm so that you get at least 8 hours of sleep a day. Then set a schedule around sleeping 8 hours. You can’t expect to do well on tests if you don’t get a sufficient amount of sleep. For example I change my sleeping habits depending on my school schedule each year.

Junior year I would get home at around 5:30ish from track then take a shower, eat, and sleep. I set my alarm for 5-7hours from 15 minutes after I got in bed. I would wake up sometime between 12-1amish and then complete all my homework and studying between that time.

Establishing time limits forces you to achieve what you need to at a faster rate while staying focused. If you think you need more sleep then make sure you get enough sleep.

Also, it might be helpful to avoid collegeconfidential at night so you can get more sleep and check it periodically through the day instead

Getting enough sleep is important. On my previous real June SAT, I struggled to sleep only 2 hours that night. Guess what, my Math dropped drastically from near 800 to a 680…
