Just want anyone who attends Tennessee to explain their thoughts and opinions on the university.

I went to UT as an out of state student. What drew me in was the warm and friendly presence that the University has. We are a University that is rich in traditions and that is one of the things that appealed to me.

As a whole, I'm pretty happy as a student. Of course there are some things that just drive me crazy, but that would happen at any university.

Fall semester is much better than Spring. Especially if your into football. The fall seems to have much more going on. Sure, the Spring has it's perks, but it's much tougher to get through.

If there is anything specific that you want to know, feel free to ask. :)

I would like more info about UT.
How is off-campus housing?
Are intro classes huge?
What are the strongest majors?
If you aren't in a frat are you "lost" socially?
Thanks.

How is off-campus housing?

I personally don't know to much. I lived on-campus my freshman year and I'm living on-campus again in the fall. There are quite a few apartment complexes on the other side of Cumberland Ave. Most are in walking distance. However, there is also a T (University bus system) that runs over there, so that you can always catch the bus.

Are intro classes huge?

It really depends on the course. The only huge classes I have had were Astronomy and Psychology. Everything else was smaller and class was held in a normal classroom instead of an auditorium.

What are the strongest majors?

Honestly, I have no idea. I just pay attention to my majors.

If you aren't in a frat are you "lost" socially?

Definitely not. The student body is diverse enough that even if your not into the Greek scene you can make friends.
