Does anyone here currently live on the west apartments? How would you rate it compared to living in the regular dorms? I have lived in roosevelt before and did not like it, but west seems a little better. I was wondering if it is any different in west? Are the people more closed off and less friendly? Also, does someone from the school come in to clean the place from time to time?

I live in West and it’s 1000 times better than regular dorms. I love cooking for myself but sometimes the food can wind up costing more than a regular meal plan if you go crazy with it [although there are 2 West meal plans: $250 & $500]. It’s apartment style, 6 people to 2 bathrooms [West A-D: 2 singles & 2 doubles; West E-I: 6 singles], with a bigger living room and kitchen than in regular dorms. Some people are more closed off especially since the doors usually dont stay propped open. it’s just like living in an apartment building. They also dont have elevators =/ Cleaning staff comes in once a week to vacuum the common areas, wipe up the kitchen & bathrooms, take out the trash and replace toilet paper.
Overall its really nice and you become closer to your apartment-mates. Buses travel frequently between West and main campus too.

They say you need U3/U4 status. Does anyone know how many credits you need in order to have U3 status? Alternatively, is there a way to find out your status through solar?

I definitely recommend it…however, as mentioned, the “social” atmosphere of conventional dormitories is lost in the apartment-style West complex.

I have a question i am a U2 standing with 56 credits. I heard it is possible to get into west apartments if every one else in the apartment is a U3 standing. Does anyone know if this is true?
