After visit Brown last week, I deceide to apply ED, Just like to know do you get a better chance to get accepted to Brown if you apply ED. Anyone know how many people apply last year and how many got accepted.

The early decision admission rate dropped to 19 percent this year as the University admitted 556 out of 2,919 early decision applicants to the class of 2016. However, subtracting the 160 athletes, the acceptance rate is about 13%. The pool generally consists of legacies and the strongest students so your chances don’t really increase

I think it’s also full of desperate applicants who don’t think they would get in otherwise.

That effect should counteract the more elitist one, leaving you and everyone else nonetheless with a better chance because the pool is smaller.

Thanks. I will apply good luck to everyone !
