My d applied ed to brown…I read the posts so i won’t discuss it with her and make her more anxious. I’m curious I saws stats like this ln the Yale board. Does anyone know how many applied ED to Brown and what the ED acceptance/deferral/rejection rates were. Also percentage of
ED deferralls who were ultimately accepted RD. How many students does Brown accept ED and how many ED did they receive this year. If she’s not accepted ED (as she expects a deferral) these stats would be helpful (or at least give me less to obsess about).

Last year, Of the 1,899 students who applied early decision, the University accepted 538, for an early decision admit rate of 28 percent. This year, Brown received approximately 2,030 early decision applications-- I've heard that Defered EDs are admitted at a rate approximating RD apps -- But I've never heard it from a reliable source in the know.

I don't know the deferred statistics. Brown claims the the addmit rate is almost the same for deferred applicants. However, I have only met two other freshmen (besides myself) who were deferred and got in regular.

The December 4, 2003 edition of The Harvard Independent, citing the Brown Daily Herald, reported as follows for last year's PLME applicants"

"Applications to the Program in Liberal Medical Education are up 20 percent so far this year, a 'significant increase,' according to Michael Goldberger, director of admission. The University has received 247 applications to date as part of the early decision pool, compared with 207 from last year."

Any idea of last year's PLME ED acceptance rate?
