Ive been admitted as a chemical engineering major and I was wondering if anyone could share their experiences in Enginuity Hall. I know engineering will be hard so is it worth it to stay there and endure the first year with fellow engineers? Or will it just make it harder to make non-engineering friends? Plus its in Lothian and I dont want to stay in West Lothian. Thanks!

Hi! I was admitted as a chemical engineering major as well and I’m still deciding if I should go to UCR or not. I don’t have the answer to your question, but would you like to room with me? Unless you already found a roommate!

Jazzhead,
It’s worth it. It’s one of my biggest regrets that I had here at UCR. Living in the Enginuity Hall helps since most of the students in that hall will be going through the same classes as you. It will also help since the RA will usually be a fellow engineering major. Meaning, you can get advice from him/her about classes, professors, buy textbooks, etc. As the year goes on, classes DO get harder and this means that, hopefully, the students in your hall are going to be more focused on classes. Not all student will be to be honest but there is the chance you’ll get more study groups going and it helps with networking in the future. The more people you know in the field the better!

Invention,
Just go to UCR! If you have questions, let me know. I’d love to talk to you about UCR and BCOE!
