In the past, people hear right after the deadline if they accept people and I’m not sure whats taking so long…
i heard the same thing… man i just wanna know where i’m going for sure this fall! lol
But people are getting off the UCLA and UCSD waitlist. So maybe there will be more room for us
i hope we all get in! but it still sucks how we haven’t heard anything yet

They said “indeed offered admissions from waitlist”? so uhhh i don’t know. i was rly happy when I saw that but I think that they spoke too soon since it was posted at the end of march or something

How can they say that when they didn’t even know how many students SIR’d at the time
But i mean it’s how they do things and I guess no matter what we say it won’t matter

@waitlisted1234 Colleges don’t really care about how applicants feel, they just want to do things best for the schools, that sounds cold, but I guess that’s the reality 
@waitlisted1234 i totally agree with you I hate this waiting, but I do have a theory because I really REALLY do believe they have open spots. Due to the rising number of applicants, (UCI rose 7.7% from last year) I think that they really werent sure what their yield was going to be for this year. And I think that this is true for other UC schools and private schools. First of all the person who got off the wait list at pitzer proves that because I don’t think that happens very often year to year, and I have a friend who just got off the wait list at Carnegie Mellon which doesn’t usually happen. I think uci Is waiting to release wait list decisions because they assume that a lot of people are going to be shuffling around. It’s the same for ucr or ucsc too, I think that because Uci is half way down the UC teir they’re waiting to see how many people leave to see how accurate their freashman number is.
This is the most frustrating thing ever…

I think the middle UCs and relatively lower-ranked UCs like SC and UCR need to wait for top UCs to release their decisions first. Because they know some of their freshmen are waitlisted by these top UCs and once they get in they will probably go there. So they need to wait till after the top UCs and then make their final decisions
