@waitlisted1234 Same! Getting the public aware over the unusual admission numbers + increase of out of state students accepted this year is a good strategy for the budget issue to be resolved. I wonder if Governor Brown
and the President of the UC system has finalized the budget yet. 
Where are you all going if you don’t get into UCI? I think we will all get in, but just wondering.

@lollicupcatxx right? I don’t think they have resolved it yet. I haven’t found any recent late April/may posts regarding the issue.
I read somewhere that they’re going to keep revising the budget till June.
@coolforschool im going to UCR if I don’t get in. It makes me wish that I applied to more schools (I applied to UCR,UCI,UCLA,UCSD) cus I feel like I could’ve gotten into ucsb/ ucd

Do you all think that a 2013 occurence could happen again or not? In 2012 all waitlisted students were admitted. In 2014 80% were admitted. However in 2013 all of the 1400 or so that opted in were rejected.

Honestly anything is possible. It could happen but in my opinion, I think it won’t. As I said earlier, why would they accept so many when they don’t know how much budget they will get?
Their enrollment is capped to last year’s, meaning they can only accept the same amount that they did last year (and they accepted a lot from the waitlist that year)
But if the 2013 does happen again, it may be because they accepted a lot of out of state/international students. Idk about out of state students but not many international students will attend because it’s way more expensive. (That’s what happened in 2012. Uci accepted a lot of international students but not many attended so they pulled everyone off the waitlist)
I know a lot of people who denied UCI and are attending other schools so then their spots will open up!
I’m hopeful. I check my portal like 100 times everyday, no joke. I just checked a few minutes ago and for some reason it was slower than usual :O. Maybe that could foreshadow something? haha

Can anyone try calling admissions and asking them? I read some forums from a few years ago and they were told that they wouldn’t get in
So maybe the admissions people will tell us some details?? Hehe I would call them but I’m too scared…

(Appealed and sent transcript including first semester senior year, so gpa is 4 in the appeal)
I will call them tomorrow. I called the Office of Admissions and they are only open Mon-Fri.
