Science at Wellesley?

How are the science programs at Wellesley?

Good.
Most of the science departments (biology, chemistry, computer science, geoscience, mathematics, physics and psychology) are housed in the science center, the exception being the Astronomy department which is housed in the observatory behind the science center. The bio and chem departments are pretty big but I don't have any experience with them.
There is a a science center sponsored summer research program that you can apply to and work on campus over the summer and students work on projects during the school year.

I've heard that some of the upper div physics classes are tiny! like 2 people.
Is this typical for biology or chemistry?

I have no idea about the bio department or the chem department.
There are actually a lot of senior physics majors this year, making the average class size for the upper levels about 12 or 15, which is unusual for the physics department. There is an independant study class of two people, because a lot of people didn't want to take quantum 3.

You can get actual enrollment figures here:
<a href="http://www.wellesley.edu/Registrar/Menupage8.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.wellesley.edu/Registrar/Menupage8.html</a>
250s and 350s in any subject are the number designated for independant studies. A 360 or 370 is a thesis in that subject. So don't be surprised if you see those courses for every department, but one or two students is in them.
