I've recently been accepted into SU-VPA and SVA-Film. Personally speaking, I prefer SU because my goal is transfer into Newhouse the second year. Anybody know how large is the probability for a VPA student transfer into Newhouse?
Is transfer easier for a SU-VPA student than a non-SU student(SVA, for example)?
Is the transfer only depending on my first year's GPA or they will also consider something else?

It is easier to transfer in from VPA. That said, it is totally dependent on your GPA. They just look at how many openings, then list the GPA’s in order across the university. This makes strategic planning helpful - for example, taking easy courses, taking the Newhouse introductory course that is required for all Newhouse students second semester.
It is also helpful to try and develop a relationship with the Newhouse faculty and let them know of your intentions.
