how long does it take to prepare like... essays for 10 schools?

10 is a rough estimate of the number of schools that i'm going to be applying to. I already have 2 essays written up for a university scholarship that basically summarizes my EC's and passions, so this might help a bit.

I'm taking the october SAT I's, perhaps november SAT I's again, and december SAT II's. i'm applying RD for all schools.

How hard/time-consuming would it be to write all those essays in a span of like... october to december??

Could you start the essays now (or are you busy with SATs)? I don't know how long it would take to write 10 good essays, but I've heard that sometimes it's possible to use the same essay for multiple schools (changing a few things for each school of course) if the essay prompts are similar, so that would help a bit.

I'm pretty sure your not going to write 10 different essays because you can recycle some essays. Just be sure to write at least one essay that is versatile or try to look at all the topics for all the colleges your applying and try to find one subject matter that fits the maximum amount of topics.

Recycling essays means being able to sleep at night - or rather - having TIME to sleep! Just be sure you change the name of the school before mailing it in. Nothing impresses an ADCOM from Stanford more than reading -
'I have wanted to attend Yale my entire life'. :D

well you don't actually have to write 10, do you? Most schools use the common app.

^ Yeah, but nearly all schools have a supplemental essay.

Listen, this summer and past few weeks I finished the supplemental essays for 9 schools as well as the one for the common app, and honestly, it doesn't take very long, you'll be fine, and you will probably only end up writing like 5 essays, since, like others have said, you can recycle a lot of them.

ic. Thx for info ppl
