I probably won't get in. My GPA isn't in the 2's, but is closer to 3.0 than 3.5, much less 3.8. I've taken 90% AP and Honors, come from private school, and the EC's aren't too shabby, but my SAT is in the low 1900's. USC is a definite reach for me, and although I'm finding myself puzzled as to why I even applied to the school in the first place and didn't just stick to a local state school, I do want to know when the letters start going out. So, even though I'd consider myself lucky to be wait-listed, is anybody aware of when a person who sent in their application 'round about November 28th should hear back? I sent my test scores long before that, if it matters. And I had an interview, if that also matters.

:)?

Most high school seniors who applied for merit scholarships and had all application materials sent in to the admissions office by December 1, 2009 will be notified anytime from late February to late March. All applicants should receive a letter of regret or admittance by April 1st.

SC does not have a wait list, early decision or early action. They do, in some cases, offer spring admission.

That’s a long time. Oh well. Thanks!

Yes, the waiting is the worst part. There are traditionally “what is your status and what does it mean???” obsession threads that start up around mid January that just add to the anticipation(stress). On the plus side, the applicants all get to know each other and bond and offer support when decision time rolls around, so check back and join in. Good luck!

^ I’m going through the same with UDub (even though it’s a safety for me) kinda sucks

^oh wow same! Udub is supposed be to a safety for me too but now im just not so sure anymore, after my status has been sitting on “awaiting initial review” for a whole month…at least my USC app is being reviewed.

^ a few years ago when i applied to uw as my safety the same thing happened to me. when i called them to ask why i wasn’t receiving my acceptance letter they said it was because i didn’t meet the foreign language req of 2 years. i let them know that i’m was enrolled in 5th year IB Spanish and my acceptance letter came in the mail 2 days later lol. when i doubt, just call the admissions office!

Yeah, the UW admissions office is really nice. I got an email from the director of admissions :D

But seriously, let’s talk about USC.

UDub is a safety for me, GPA and ACT is top 25% of their posted stats, but I’ve been on “all materials” for a month lol

I’m pretty nervous about USC 22 kids from my school=■■■

For the site above, I signed up and it said they located my USC id and everything, but when I sign in I get an error message. Is this because I haven’t submitted anything about financial aid yet? My app says its being reviewed on the application site.
