Hi everyone. I was looking at the requirements for some of the engineering programs I'm interested in, and some require (or at least would like) the Chemistry Subject Test along with your regular SAT grade. The next test date is Nov. 2nd so I can still register late for it. That gives me about 20 days to study. I have off all of next week. I have taken chemistry in 9th Grade (3 years ago) and I am currently taking AP Chem. To be honest, the material isn't THAT fresh in my mind, but I think some of it will come back to me as I study. Do you think I can study like hell during the next few days and get a 730+ ?? Or is it just to much material to learn in such a short time and still do well? If possible, how many hours a day should I study? Thanks in advance.

C’mon guys…anyone whose taken it? It would really help to know within the next two days.

I think that if you’re currently taking AP Chem you should be fine. Just really study, and I’d recommend using Barron’s (over-prep I know, but it really is thorough) and doing some real practice tests and really going over them with your chem teacher.

I did mine back in June without having taken AP Chem and sciences are not my strong suit at all and I Got 800. I studied a fair bit though. Especially in the last 3 weeks or so

Alright! I have off all of next week so I guess I’ll buy Barons and get on it. I needed someone to boost my confidence. 21 days, I’ll make them count. Thanks @Harrovian

Which is easier to study the chem or physics test? I took AP physics B (I got a 4) last year, and this year am taking both AP chem and both Physics C?

I’m not too sure since Ive only been in AP Chem for a month. I usually hear that AP Chem has the hardest test but they changed the curriculum this year so it may not be as hard as Physics. @klokt152

klokt152, you need to know much more than AP Physics B and AP Physics C Mechanics for the subject test. The subject test for chem also covers a lot of information. Go with the subject you’re more comfortable with as of now.

Considering none of my colleges need the sat subject test is it necessary to spend a lot of time studying for them?

Hey I took the SAT Chem just last week. I think it’s definitely doable to get a 730. I took it after 2 years of H. Chem. so I def was not fresh out of the course. It was less difficult than I expected. Review Barron’s and go over their tests and you should be fine.

Awesome. Thanks for telling me, now I know I can go in and get a decent score. Hopefully I wont slack of these next few days! @bioguy22
