How long for EA decision?

I know it says we'll be hearing by Jan 15th. But that seems like a very long time to wait..

One month to go

if you’re applying…good luck :)

I just got my acceptance letter today.

Yay! Big envelope? Small envelope?

It was a big green envelope that said “You’re the 1 we want” on it.

Wow, I wasn’t expecting the decisions until mid-January, or that’s what there website says…

Wait, I thought the decisions weren’t going out until January 15th. I did not know we were supposed to hear BY January 15.

karategirl, would you mind posting a picture of the acceptance letter?

I can’t figure out how to post a picture. Basically it was a green envelope and it had one of those clear windows that bills usually have. You could see the “Congratulations…” through that. I think the reason I got it today is because I only live about 15 minutes away from BU.

Karategirl you just made my week!!! Hope everyone gets their acceptance soon!

oh shoot you’re in-state too…I just emailed them today with changes to my application and they said they made the changes which makes me think they haven’t decided over my app yet.

@controlledburn

I too, submitted a change to my application yesterday and they emailed me today stating that it was added to my file.

Guess its just a waiting game.

Best of luck!

i couldn’t even get the activation password to my account…does this mean i’ll have an incomplete application?

Has anyone else recieved a letter? I applied Early Action and have not gotten a letter back yet. Does anyone know if they mail out decisions on a rolling basis until Jan. 15 for EA?

I received an acceptance letter today exactly like the one described above. I am also in state and I live about an hour from the campus so, as in the other case, that could have something to do with it. I have no idea if it will actually take until mid-January for them to send all the other letters out or not. If you live in California and have borderline stats you probably shouldn’t hold your breath, because if they are using some pseudo-rolling admission policy then people who live closer and have more clear-cut decisions will of course be notified first.

I was expecting to get in, but not this early. This was a major surprise to me. I imagine this must suck if Binghamton is one of your top choices and you now have no idea when to expect notification. Be glad knowing that at least you may find out sooner.

I bet that there is a distinct possibility that in-state residents are being notified first. It is also possible that better qualified people are being notified first (no offense to Binghamton, but it was my safety) and since this is CC that could be a fairly large number of the applicants here. If they are certain to accept you (or reject you, for that matter) then it makes sense to get those decisions out of the way early.

Anyway, best of luck to everyone else. Hopefully you will receive notification soon. I was snooping around here to see if this sort of thing is the norm or not because I found it really weird to receive a decision three weeks early.

I got the same letter today. It was dated 12/20 which confuses me because I withdrew my application on the 17th…

I hope they aren’t sending rejections now so kids get them on xmas eve; daughter applied EA but really doesn’t expect to get in.

My son got his acceptance letter today. We were surprised it came so early, too. We are also in-state.

My son got a letter today to, what a wonderful surprise, its our top choice. Letter says he is one of over 30,000 applicants for 2000 spots in freshman class. In-state. Major-Watson School of Engineering-Computer Science
