How long is everyone's college list?

MIT
Stanford
Harvard
Princeton
CalTech

Are the main ones I’m applying to. Although if I don’t get into a school early I’ll probably apply to all of the Ivies, some top 20’s, Lehigh, and 2 safeties.

@IBfailure: your going to spend 60 bucks to just get the number 10 really?

@hanana: If you can’t even remember some of them do you honestly think your going to go there?

Me personally-5 and I think that’s a lot.

I’m a Junior, and I’m only really considering a feww.

UNC Chapel Hill
UNC Charlotte
Wake Forest Univ
Duke
And an out of state private school like Stanford or UCLA. I don’t think I’d end up going to either, but I’d still apply just for the heck of it.

6, but I got accepted ED, so it ended up being only 2 applications submitted, one of which was free because of National Merit Semi status :)

Protip: even if you finish early, don’t submit your RD apps until you hear back from ED or first-choice EA schools… a bunch of my friends did this and wasted $200-$300.

I have narrowed it down to “only” 20.

I have 2… :o

I don’t think that’s healthy, OP. :P

I’m applying to nine schools and the perception of my peers seems to be that nine is pushing it.

The only thing is, I want to double major, and there are only two schools that have a strong enough program in those two areas (music and humanities). Why do people apply to so many colleges? Maybe I am just ignorant :S

I started with under ten, and narrowed it down to five:

-Hollins University
-Florida Southern College
-Eckerd College
-Rollins College
-University of South Florida (absolute last resort, finanically)
