<p>Well, pre med is a series of required courses that you can take at any time during your undergrad education. You can probably finish the coursework in 2 very intense years.</p>
<p>However, you will need to have completed a baccalaureate degree in order to actually attend medical school.</p>
<p>You may also need to schedule those pre-med classes based on when you plan on applying to medical school. You should complete them before you take the MCAT. If you want to attend medical school immediately after UG, then you will want to complete them by the end of your junior year so you can take the MCAT then and get in the application cycle. If you plan on taking a gap year or two, then you have more leeway.</p>
