how many academic awards/honors do you have?

and what specifically are they

Depends on what counts as academic honors...if you include local math competitions, school departmental awards, etc., probably in the neighborhood of 20-30. I have about four honors that I consider important (semifinalist USPhO, semifinalist USChO, almost qualified for USAMO, 3rd place JV JETS).

And, of course, I've ascended a game of NetHack (ranking me ~#700 on NAO). :D

I win beer gulping contests. Every time.

Every.

Single.

Time.

Perfect Score and Gold Medal on National Latin Exam,
highest scorer on Math Team (overall),
Top 10 in Science (Biology)

self-proclaimed best example of senioritis

My school gives out awards for so much BS. For example, you get a pin for completing Algebra 2... I don't consider these awards important, and I don't think you actually want to read through 50+ of them.

My school gives awards to the top two/three students in each class (like there'd be three for AP Chemistry, etc.).

At least, the teachers who remember do.

My school's pretty dumb. We don't give out awards for anything.

my school doesnt give awards until end of senior year. so lame and its after u apply to colleges too :(

Here are some of my awards:

NHS

School Math Award for 10th grade

High Scores in some math contests

Magna Cum Laude rank on Nat'l Latin Test Freshman Year

Perfect Attendance

My poem, along with another student's, were the 2 poems chosen by my AP English teacher to be published in my school's literary magazine last year.

I won "Accounting Jeopardy," a game in which my Accounting teacher asked us questions about mateirla that the class covered so far in the year.

These are what come to mind right now.

ummm well i was part of the team that won WSSL, a local science competition
qualified for AIME two years (shooting for USAMO this year)

yeah that's about it =D

Runner-up by only one vote for Best Eyes! It's not academic, but it sure is an honor. Other chick beat me by one stupid vote. lol

Award for excellence in the study of Torah.
Dean's List at Cornell Summer College (doesn't mean anything, really)

That's it so far.

wait a minute, Hepstar...did you actually put "accounting jeopardy" on an application...if that kind of stuff counted I would be brimming with wins from those sorts of things...heck, may as well include about everytime you win a game in gym class

Hahaha "Accounting Jeopardy Winner"..what the hell.

I should have put "Golden Bear Award"--my geometry teacher sophomore year thought we were like kindergartners and gave that one out to the highest test scores..and I made fun of it so much that when I actually won, everyone called me "GB" for the rest of the year.

I got a sticker of an endangered mouse for answering a question during an environmental presentation! The Enviro Golden Sticker award!

hmmmm

8th grade geography bee school winner (and 4th in states that same year)

National Award/study of exceptional talent for SAT-I math

qualified for AIME the past two years (the only two years our school has done AMC) and the AMC 12 winner

hopefully physics olympiad semi finalist this year (even though I only got 22 out of 38 right, and only 1 free response right...)

lots of school awards

AP Scholar with Honor and hopefully AP National Scholar after this year

"did you actually put "accounting jeopardy" on an application"

No because it took place after I submitted my apps. However, it could actually help me b/c I am going to major in accounting. People have put "Time person of the Year" on their apps so I don't think including "Accounting Jeopardy" would be the worst thing in the world.

btw if anyone had "jeopardy teen tournament winner" as won of their ECs....are they locks for ivy?

My school gives awards to the top 5 people in each class every year - not every teacher though, some are just lazy
