I was wondering how many AP classes you have to take to be competitive when it comes to college admissions? I will have taken a total of 6 by the end of my senior year, but my school offers about 8 or 9 of them. Will these positively or negatively impact me, or does it depend on what your school can offer that schools base it on?

you could’ve taken more depending on how well you handle more rigorous classes, but it seems like your school doesn’t offer that many. You only missed 2 or 3 of them so you could’ve taken more but it shouldn’t impact too much. It’s usually on a school by school basis so they will take the lack of ap classes into consideration.

So what you’re saying is that say, hypothetically if my school only offers one AP class and I take that only one, it won’t hurt me?

I’m pretty sure colleges base it on how many AP classes your school offers.

At least you don’t have 25 AP classes offered and will only graduate with 8… ■■■

1 is a pretty extreme case, in that case to demonstrate you’re an academically striving student you should have self studied/taken online courses. That’s something you can consider as well, although not neccessary.
