what courses can I not take?
Thank you
For general L&S requirements (not associated with a specific major), check each requirement to see if AP credit can fulfill it:

Each L&S major determines its policies for accepting AP credit for subject requirements for the major. Check the web sites of the departments of each major that you are interested in.
If you may skip a lower level course with AP credit but intend to take a more advanced course that the lower level course is a prerequisite for, it would be a good idea to try the old final exams for the course that can be skipped to verify your knowledge. For example, if you intend to major in math, physics, etc. and use the 5 on AP calculus BC to skip Math 1A and 1B, it would be a good idea to try the Math 1A and 1B final exams before taking Math 53 or 54.
You can find some old exams here:

@ucbalumnus As always, good advice - definitely try taking some college-level calc tests to see where you are. D retook Math 1A and 1B (even with 5’s on the APs) because it was “recommended”. She’s not regretting it (you can’t know everything the first time 'round) - got an A in 1A and is on track to do the same for 1B. Gives her a strong foundation for multivariable, etc. Depending upon your major (and confidence in your grasp of the subjects), you come in as a sophomore or higher, based on AP credits.
