3 years ago, i applied to 8 and got in 7. apply to more, as long as u fall around the 25% percentile, u got a decent shot.

Presently i have 4 definites and about 6 maybes...but i might need more considering that the list includes 2 ivies, Stanford, and MIT that i probably won't get in to.

I think I am applying to about 8-10 colleges.

Well, as of right now, I have 14 schools I'm considering. I'll probably apply to ~10. I have a friend who applied to 37 colleges last year and got into 26. I'm pretty sure she didn't sleep at all from October until February. :)

I think it's going to be 10, which I cut down from 12. Half of those are on the common App. I thought I had it bad until I saw some of these posts.

right now i have 11, and i doubt that will change.

I got 22!!!!!!!!!!

10 Right now, though it may be 11 in the future. Can't decide on Dartmouth.

Where can I find a listing of schools on the "Common App"?

21.....Thank goodness, most of them are on the Common App

why is everyone applying to so many? This is going to put a lot of kids on waiting lists.

i'm applying to 6

I think 37 must be the record. Yikes.

I applied to 20 and I thought it was the best decision I ever made. I had many choices and I was never forced to ask myself "what if" because I applied to all the schools I wanted to

Yeah, I'm applying to 10, though it might be 11 by the time I'm finished.

I'm applying to 10...maybe 11/12

Like 12 over here...and that's only counting the ones I really love...I might add some more though.

I applied to 7 schools.

Some schools will you give you application fee waivers with no questions asked. Some require that your family makes under a certain amount. Your counselor should be able to write you a waiver letter/give you a form.

I don't have to apply until next year but right now I have a list of 24. I plan to trim that down to 7 by next year.

I applied to 12 or so and got into all but 1. It's really quite a waste to apply to this many though because you find that you're only REALLY interested in maybe 4 or 5 of them.

I have 9 definites and about 6 maybes. Probably will cut the maybes down the middle and end up w/ 12.
