<p>You need one personal statement + 2 short mini-essays. (That's the beauty of the common app.) But certain schools might require that you write an essay/supplement for them. So, that depends on where you apply and if they require it.</p>
<p>Do the two short mini-essays come from the 6 prompts in the Common App. essay list as well or something else?</p>
<p>The 2 short mini-essays had their own prompt (one dealt with ECs, and I can't remember what the other was about) The personal statement comes from one of the 6 prompts.</p>
<p>I know the Common App has changed for this application season though, so I don't know if the above info still applies..</p>
