How many credit hours will you have next semester?

I've got 16 now and I'll have 18.5 in the spring. I'm a bit worried, but I have plenty of time as it is.

Looks like 24. Just had a meeting with my adviser today.

He said “you gotta do what you gotta do”.

It’s time to get out of here and graduate.

He’s letting you do that? I had to force-add my way over the 17 barrier.

12

Took 12 this semester also

After seriously struggling with six classes this semester, I’m dropping down to four plus a BS geology colloquium course.

I’ll have 21. That’s what I’ve got this semester though, and it hasn’t been too bad. My semester will be roughly the same classes as have now.

This semester-

General Physics I
Calculus I
General Chemistry I
Intro to Anthropology
Beginning Spanish I

Next semester-

University Physics I
Calculus II
General Chemistry II
General Cultural Anthropology
Beginning Spanish II

So, roughly the same courses, just moving on to the next step in the sequence. I’m looking forward to next year though. I basically had to overload these two semesters to finish my associates on time and transfer after next year. Next year I’ll only have 17 credits each semester. It’s going to feel like an incredibly light course load in comparison.

Hard to believe that this semester’s already getting close to the end. Finals week for me is December 9-13, so just about 5 weeks away.

I hopefully want to go 16, but due to tuition costs and myself being a moron first semester, I might have to decrease just to afford it.

1st semester, I was given 2 loans, unsubbed, and subsidized, I denied the unsubsidized not knowing that it would also be denied spring semester… So now I have less money, and I probably won’t be able to afford college. My parents make too much money a year for me to get any serious aid. 5.4k for a 12-16 credit semester is a lot. Closest community college that’s near me isn’t worth it at all, as it provides useless majors.

I’ll have 18 next semester, down from 19 the past two semesters. I’m still a bit worried because I’ll have two labs, a physics 3 and a junior level intro to microprocessors lab (as a sophomore because that’s the only place it fits in my plan)

17 :)

I’m really excited for next semester.

I’m suoer excited about it. Only 2 engineering classes, technical writing, Econ and a soils class.

@comfortablycurt

Mine will be:
Calculus III Honors
Fundamentals of Geometry
Elementary Arabic II
The Design of Play (a game design class)
Object-Oriented Programming
Intro to Metals (metalworking)

Other than Arabic, nothing’s a continuation of this semester. It’ll be nice to change it up. But I think I’m also looking forward more to next year; I’ll be doing more game-design stuff even if it’s not any fewer credit hours (not that I’d necessarily want that). I also agree about the timing; I feel like classes have only been going for a month or so even though it’s been more than two.

The 18 credit maximum allowed by the college or close to it. I need to do that every semester to be able to complete the double major and minor I want to complete. I wish I could take 15 instead; I am worried about my grades suffering when I increase my course load, but you gotta do what you gotta do. With the economy the way it is these days I want to make sure I have multiple career path and extended school options when I graduate.

This quarter I have 16. Next quarter I’ll either have 16 or 17 depending on which requirement for CS I decide to get out of the way and which I decide to put off until spring quarter.

Only 12. That’s the benefit of planning ahead as a freshman and sophomore.

Plowing through now so it’s not as bad later.

I’ve got a First Year Passion (Writing) Course (TBA, if I get my first choice it’ll be about the viewpoints of victims of war), Advanced Spanish Composition and Conversation, World Civ II (History 101), Dynamics of Japanese History, and Psych 101.

@Silly If I only took 12 credits next semester my scholarships would be dropped. Consider yourself lucky that you can get by on 12 credits.

I’m taking 18 next semester. I’ve got 16 right now, but I’m adding a 2 credit language class next semester.

I’m pretty stoked!! So far, this semester at 16 hasn’t been too bad, so I’m curious to test the waters of 18.

I have 22 this semester.

My god I don’t get how some people take 20+… My school caps you at 17 and then gotta pay $1,300 per credit… That’d be like $6,500 extra to take 22 credits

It depends on the college. All of our classes are 4 credits each, so 3 classes is the minimum for full time status. Most people take four, therefore five is the max possible. 20 credits = 5 classes.
