Sp, how many finalists are chosen per scholarship? Not how many are awarded the scholarships, just how many are called for the finalists weekend.

From what I heard/read since 4 from each category get full and 16 can half, im pretty sure 32 are chosen as finalist. also since wustl is paying for eveythign including travel expenses, they wouldn’t give out finalist to a bunch of people so 32 makes sense for the honorary scholars (moog, mylonas, lien…)

If someone can’t make the finalist weekend does that automatically disqualify them?

yes, it does

I’d love to know too. omgitzpun, are you sure it’s 32?

Also, does that number include Rodriguez and Ervin? I was under the impression that they were slightly larger.

I looked at the 2005 thread for Ervin and it said that there were 77 finalists and that 20 got either full or partial tuition. Does anyone know if this is still accurate?

I called and asked; she said there are usually 30-40 Honorary Scholars Finalists across the four categories.

Is that 30-40 finalists a total for ALL categories, or is it 30-40 for Moog, an additional 30-40 for Mylonas, etc

All - 30/40 among all of four categories, not each.

Someone should call for Ervin

AsianGinger + Wampum: In the 2006 thread it said that there were 50 or 51 freshman scholars for Ervin, making that the largest class to date. Unfortunately, I don’t know what it’s like now.

So saying they are an Ervin scholar means they are on a scholarship, I’m assuming???
