<p>I wrote a (modest) yet honest 20 hours per week on EC's. However, I see some people on here writing about working 40+ hours a week, doing EC's, and still pulling off good grades in school. I couldn't do well in school if I spent more than 20 hours a week on activities, yet some people on here seem to do way more. Are they just exaggerating? What's the average time spent?</p>
<p>who knows...but I have many hours cuz like I babysit, and while I babysit I do other things, so that counts as double hours when it really isn't. You understand?</p>
<p>there are also some activities that are seasonal. for example, you could write 20+ hours of basketball, 20+ hours of tennis, 20+ hours of soccer, and obviously it would be impossible to do all three concurrently, but if bball is during the winter, tennis is during the spring and soccer is during the fall, then things begin to make more sense.
i don't think i know of anyone who does the same five activities year-round. most people's ECs are either seasonal, or only during the school year and then they do other more time consuming EC's during the summer.</p>
