Question:
Normally how many hours a day/or week can you work and still have enough time to finish all your class assignments and etc?

Probably around 15-20 hours a week, thats only 2 or three hours a day so you should have plenty of time for school work.

If you’re talking about work like a job then during the summer I’ve been working around 30-35 hours a week but during the school year it’s around 15-20 and I have plenty time to get homework done

I aim for 12-15. You don’t want to spend all your time working and schooling.

I used to work 40 + hours a week and my grades really suffered. I’m at a loss because I have to pay for my own education and even loans don’t cover everything but I don’t want to ruin what I have worked so hard for with poor grades. Now I work about 20-30 hours a week. I’m a molecular bio major so my classes are pretty demanding but 20 is pretty manageable.

Ugh I’m lucky if I get to work 15 hours a week. And I have a summer job too. I’m barely making anything, but I guess I’m lucky to have one. I could possibly handle working around 15 hours a week during the school year.

I used to work 20-30 hours during school. It would usually be about 25-28. I usually worked between 4 and 9 hours a day. 4 hours when I had classes, 6 on my days off, and 9 on the weekends. At another job I probably worked 4-5 hours a day and 20-25 hours a week.

Stick to under 20 hours a week. If you’re taking five classes 20 hours isn’t so bad, and if you’re lucky enough to get paid more than minimum wage you might be able to afford to only work 15 or so. If you work on campus they usually have a set number of hours you can work, like no more than 20 hours. That’s nice because sometimes places like retail or grocery stores don’t care what else you have going on in your life. It’s your job and you’ll be there when they tell you to be. See if you can find out what places in your college town are good about working with student schedules.

Well, for my job/internship at my CC, I for no more than 10 hours/week during the semester and no more than 40 hours/week during the summer because of NIH stipulations.

But at the 4 year I’m transferring too, I’m gonna try and do no more than 20 hours a week because my course load is more demanding and I need a high GPA for my scholarships to be renewable.

So I’m infering that anything between 15-20 hours is managable?
I’m just trying to figure out how often I’d get to see my BF if we both get jobs and split the traveling expenses (he’s going to be in Canada).

I find it best at 10-15 hours. It keeps the cash flowing (somewhat) and promotes pretty healthy time management skills without pushing you too far. A relatively cruisy job too which helps.
