How many hours of sleep each night do you get in college?

For me, I try to go to bed before 12 midnight Monday - Friday because I have early classes all week, (8 am & 10 am). This gives me a good amount of sleep for each day IMO. Weekends are my free days because I can sleep in as late as I want to. Although, I’ve slept in before and only missed my classes if I’m not feeling well, which only happened once or twice so far. But, I’m doing a better job of not missing anymore classes because some of them affect my grades.

6

Depends. I think on average, probably 6 hours. But it can be as low as 3 hours, or as much as 12 on the weekends.

7-9

Average of 5 on weekdays and an average of 9 on weekends.

Like 6 on weekdays at 8 on weekends, depending on just how late I went out.

8-12 on weekends, 7 on weeknights when I drive the next morning, and 5-6 on weeknights when I take the bus or carpool.

Why do other students seem to get much less sleep on weeknights than weekends? This was my experience in high school because there were lots of assignments each weeknight and usually no syllabus, but in college there is a syllabus and you usually know about assignments well in advance so I usually do a lot of my studying on the weekends so that I can get 7-9 hours of sleep every night.

Club meetings and classes are usually on weekdays, which takes away from homework time. On weekends you have the entire day.

My two main weekly problem sets are due on Fridays, and we’re often not taught the relevant material until Monday and Wednesday, so completing the homework a week in advance would be difficult.

Maybe its because I’m a math and CS major, but I don’t usually know about assignments well in advance. I get assigned work say on Monday due Wednesday all the time. These aren’t on the syllabus. Yes, you may know that you will get assigned homework on wednesday due friday, but you can’t do it ahead of time, and you don’t necessarily know how long it will take.

Ah ok that really only happens to me in my Italian class, which isn’t enough to shift my sleep schedule.

I’m also super involved in music and to a lesser extent theater, on top of an 18 credit load, so I generally have to start my hw 9 pm or later on weekdays, hence why I usually don’t go to bed until at least one.
