As of rn I’m at a CC and I plan on getting an AA in Sociology. Most of those units we’ll be benificial if I transfer to a CSU, while not so much a UC. I also want to get a AA , and possibly ceetifcates in something computers related like a AA in Administartion assistant… something that can help me work an office job. That AA is consisitive of units that will count towards CSU school, not so much UC’s. In total I would probably have 89 tanseferable untita for CSU and UC I’d have 70. I know they say 70 is the max transferable units so I’m fine for UC’s but what about the CSU’s??? Would I really be rejected from the a CSU for having 89units ? ?
No you won’t be rejected from a CSU for having too many units! The number of units you can transfer from a community college is capped at 70, but you still get subject credit for a class you’ve taken. These are two different things. The unit count towards graduation. The subject credit means you’ve already taken the class. So all the work you’ve done will still exist and you don’t have to retake classes you have completed. It’s just that you need to earn additional units at the CSU school in order to accumulate enough to graduate.
