How many of you believe in God?

Cuz they (doctors) said he would live only 3 years after being diagnosed with his disease...yet he lived.

OK, so what you really mean is that I should google "Stephen Hawking God" until I can come up with a quote you like, rather than one that I do.

This tangent is pointless, anyway. I honestly don't care whether Stephen Hawking or anybody else believes in God.

Sempitern555's right--I wouldn't let you become a doctor out of concern for the patients' health.

thats right

I only choose to believe something based on the arguments made available to myself and my decison. I'm not going to jump off a bridge just because someone else did it.

lol, goes to show that even those at supreme intelligence of how the universe works and how everything came to be....believe in God!!! Because in their field of expertise; they can't prove anything; no matter how far they go...steady trying to find the motive...

neither can you or anyone else using empirical methods :D

science is based on empiricism, a hard fact, theories are models that best fit the facts, thats why science is always evolving as new discoveries come to light

religion however is based on a mushy belief which cannot be tested or experimented on. it exists because you say it does.

Are you tired, thesloc, or are your increasingly incoherent ramblings intended for some purpose? To lure me into a false sense of security?

When you crash at 60mph on a concrete wall; and you live, you'll know.

I bet you'd be like OMG!!

Doctors have been puzzle by many cases...or "miracles", like how someone can make such progress, when science said it couldn't?

See what I mean? It's like I'm trying to catch a ghost of a meaning--I can kind of see what he's saying, but it...doesn't...make...any...sense...and it's getting worse, too.

I'm not trying to make you do anything....you deserve a cookie.

I think I saw one of those "miracles in medicine" programs, or something like that, when I was watching a religious channel for laughs. The most memorable phrase was "the anecdotal evidence is mounting" ROTFL

"you deserve a cookie'

you deserve a psychiatrist and a copy of Encyclopedia Britannica

" like how someone can make such progress, when science said it couldn't"

I really hope you don't try to make a name for yourself and create a "miracle"

No, that's bs too; where the guy does something crazy, and the dude is all recovered? **** no, I'm talking something that's probable, and likely to puzzle scientists...

haha, i deserve a psychiatrist? Got Jesus?

He wouldn't know what to do the the Encyclopedia Britannica, except possibly burn it. In any event, I'm going to bed.

Kill God
Stop Theocracy
End the Dictatorship of the Divine
Deconstruct Religion from Morality
I am Jack's hatred of anything and everything religious.

No; I'd study it; I would read it....

Just sort of a random/rhetorical question...

Why is it that some people think that in order to be a good, moral, ethical person, one needs to be religious?

"Why is it that some people think that in order to be a good, moral, ethical person, one needs to be religious?"

because its the only thing that keeps them going. Thats how they rationalize their hatred and anger at people who are not like them.

they think that if you arent a fundamentalist wacko christian, then you are an evil amoral unethical person.

sempitern666-you're full of *; you don't know anything about seventh-day adventists; we don't do that *...
