I'll start...
I believe I am number 1 out of about 320

3 out of 360... but our valedictorian is known for taking easy classes just to bolster her GPA. Example: starting this year she dropped Calc for Stat(easier teacher) and then Euro for Econ(easier AP). If that's what it takes to be valedictorian at our school than I'm glad I'm not it. Plus, I got ALOT more scholarship money than her and was also accepted a school where she was not.... eh, pathetic!

... yeah, I'm bitter and probably a bit jealous

I was 1 out of about 440 when i applied to colleges. But right before the school year began i decided to drop a couple AP classes to fit in orchestra and yearbook (i was an editor), so my gpa dropped and two people passed me. but then i switched into the senior class (i'm graduating early), and they have a couple amazing students, so now i'm 3rd of about 430. even though i might've been valedictorian if i hadn't dropped those classes, i'm glad i took yearbook and orchestra because they've been really fun.

I am. Of course, its not that big of a deal since my class isn't too terribly smart.

I am too, and my class is also not terribly smart. I think only around a third are going ot college/tech school at all. The bad part is that I have to give a speech in a bit over a week, and I have no idea what to say to them. I have plenty of friends at my school, but I really don't like most of the people in my class. Oh well...

After serious wrestling for the #1 spot (I was ranked 2nd for the past year and a half), I'm going to end up a co-val (1/536). I need to write a speech.

I was when I graduated (2002).

well... Im not val but about 14 people away ......
im 15 of 400, to me that's awsome

My school refuses to give out ranks before the end of senior year....
unofficially, I'm one or two...(as of junior year)

we dont have official ranks but i'm top 5%
you guys might think : ehh that sux
but its a big acheivement for me! :)

we don't technically have a valedictorian, but i have a 4.0 unweighted, which puts me at 1/460, tied with 11 others. Weighted, though, I have a 4.5something and am the sole #1...yay!

1/35

Does that count for anything?

I am 1/466

congrats to all of you

I am...but seriously, my class is moronic...and only about 200 people. It used to be 250ish, but our drop-out rate is pretty steep.

1/25...official (as of a month ago)!

MAn, I was so scared that I would be getting 2 or 3 the past two years. My class is pretty "average" also (not moronic, though), but there are many, many hard workers and I still can't believe I got through all of them.

1/99 that is if i don't screw up in the next three weeks.. there is only one person who is really close to me that could possibly overtake me, and it sucks because my english teacher always gives her better grades than me on writing assignments for no apparent reason, and he knows very well that I am 1 and she is 2. He just likes her for whatever reason. ok... done ranting now. =D

High school GPA wrestling is ridiculous. At our school anybody with above a 4.0 is considered a validictorian... but the validictorian with the highest GPA is the one who gets to speak. So everybody chose classes based on which AP's were easy, and dropped the hard AP's for something like yoga. I didn't, I just took all the AP's avaliable and got B's in some, so I'm ranked 24/490, behind tons of shmucks who only took classes to pamper their GPA. By the way I think we have like 35 validictorians or something outrageous like that. The catch is however, I got into the most selective schools, even more than our #1 validictorian who thought she was ever so much smarter than everyone else. So the lesson learned is that schools look at course load and ec's just as much as they look at GPA.

1/160 back in 2004

I was forced to share it with a "schmuck" who took easy classes. Needless to say even with my freshman year of college done and over with, I am still somewhat bitter about it.

1/526 considering weighted, since took most AP classes (even though, even with all As, I have same GPA as some people who are only taking all Honors...I edged in extra AP last year so have 1-year 1-AP lead)

since I got a B in AP Calc BC last semester, I lost my 4.0 (gasp!), which means unweighted-wise, I'm behind a bunch of people who have 4.0s, but again...take 1 AP at the maximum, or none at all...I'm taking 4, and the closest 2 guys are taking 2, so they got As in Calc... grrrr...so probably close to 15?

but my school ranks weighted, so I'm happy - actually they don't rank, but they do say what the highest weighted GPA is, so..... :) (how do you share valedictorian?)

EDIT: do you think guys or girls are more arrogant about their intelligence if they are valedictorian? I've seen lots of 'she dropped APs...to keep #1' on the board. Personally, I don't talk a lot (pretty reticent @ school, have authority complex w/ teachers) so people mistake it for arrogance.

HOWEVER, #2, a guy, totally bugs me b/c he wears his JCL/math medals around his neck to school.

How lame is that? (Especially when they're like 3rd place.)
