How many of you under 18 have got a job?

^Labor laws are determined by the state, only a few labor laws (which are relatively unrestrictive) exist at a federal level.

ah, that’s true, this is from TX experience, look up your state laws

I used to have a job as a receptionist at this Resource Consultant office but I hated it and after 3 months I quit.

Two jobs…

1.) Burger King

  • Age 16
  • I applied
  • $6.50 (this was last summer before minimum wage was raised.)
I lasted from mid April to mid May… lol

2.) After school daycare/summer camp

  • Started when I was 16, now I’m 17.
  • Application
  • $7.25
^ possibly the best job ever, minus the clique-y, kinda lazy coworkers. And I get free shaved ice weekly. :)

I’ve been trying on and off for the last year or so. I have had 0 actual jobs and only 1 interview. And this upcoming summer doesn’t look so bright either. I think I waited too long to follow up (i.e. call the manager after entering app) and most of the jobs are taken now). But whatever, I’m going to keep applying and hope for the best. Need that $$$$$$.
