I go to college in Michigan.
I had tennis shoes, sandals, snow boots, and flip flops for the shower.

Perfect amount of shoes. Might consider bringing gym shoes next year though. And maybe a pair of dressy sandals. But I doubt it.

It’s very interesting to see the shoe-holics drawn to this thread!

My daughter, college freshman in the fall, pointed out to me that her only pair of sneakers was purchased in 7th grade. I guess it is time for a new pair. After years of school uniforms she will be happy to leave the required low healed, closed toed, capable of being polished black loafers/pumps behind but I expect she will only take 5 or 6 pairs of shoes total.

For the majority of you, along with the over the closet shoe caddy, BBB had somthing that stored shoes in a rotating wheel in their online options. It looked interesting and it held a lot of shoes but my whole family could put all of their shoes in it - not just my daughter (we’re big fans of neutral black as a coordinating theme).

^ Your daughter made her tennis shoes last since 7th grade?! I’m lucky to make mine last a year (although they’re very cheap from Payless). What’s her secret? Lol

I’m a girl and I own: 1 pair flip flops, 1 pair converse, 3 pairs tennis shoes (2 are for back up, since I play competitively), 1 pair general running shoes, 1 pair formal.

Unless you’re going to wear out shoes a lot, no need for the multiple pairs of running shoes or other types of shoes. If you can use the same shoes for different occasions, just take one pair… you’ll be surprised how quickly a dorm room fills up, especially if you’re living with 1 or 2 other people.
