I mean can freshmen have single bathrooms?

Nope. All freshman live in doubles, all freshman share bathrooms. Minimum that I’m aware of for freshman is 4 to a bathroom. Most common housing has more like 10 people sharing a pretty large bathroom (3 stalls for shower and bathroom, if I remember). It varies from dorm to dorm.

I don’t think a college exists that has single bathrooms. I think part of the definition of dorm is shared bathroom.

But there is housekeeping, right?

Ayia- Things get dicey Friday through the weekend if your neighbors get sick(barf) or are untidy. It is something you gotta deal with, but let me tell you, people are slobs.
Usually housekeeping doesn’t clean on weekends, sorry.

Every day Monday through Friday they clean up. If you have a problem on the weekends you should get your Cs on it.

Thanks everyone! It’s just the idea of having to use unclean bathrooms for four years makes me flinch.

You don’t have to live on campus all four years.

You don’t really have to go to college. You might as well stay at home and not worry about someone’s else’s barf. Joking. In all seriousness, though, that’s what college is all about.

lol barfing?

Yes, barfing, the majority of students will drink on weekends and therefore the majority will have hangovers

Ayia’s home country is Saudi Arabia where the consumption of alcohol by young people is virtually unheard of.

Ayia: congrats on willing to come to the US culture. Unfortunately you’ll have to suffer some of its seedier side.

Thanks. I guess I can handle that.

are their boy and girl bathrooms or are they mixed?

Most of the bathrooms are gendered, but there are gender-neutral bathrooms available in every dorm as well.

okay thanks that good to know
