So, i hear there is like one bathroom per hall....how is that possible? there has to be a bathroom in each room, there is gonna be some problems if we have to share a bathroom wit like 10-20 people.....

well that's the way it is at most colleges!

don't worry, it'll be fine. i went to a residential program last summer in a college and there's only one bathroom per floor. it was never crowded or anything because people use it at different times...so yea, there's really no problem and there won't be 10-20 people in the bathroom at the same time...lol (ohh yea, and if girls can handle this, i'm sure it'd be much easier for guys hahha)

if you are living in a residence hall, the entire floor of guys (around 30) will share a community bathroom that includes around 5 showers and 5-7 stalls. dont worry, whenever you need to use the bathroom or shower, it will be available. the entire floor doesnt go use the bathroom or shower at the same time. it all works out, seriously!

if you live in some more expensive dorms, then there is one bathroom per room or per two rooms. but i prefer the community bathrooms, you dont have to wait, and believe it or not, its more social when u actually have to walk out of your room and see people like on your way to brushing your teeth or something.

Yes, they are never crowded.

nah, there's actually not gonna be any problems...

My floor has 12 guys, 2 showers, 3 stalls and 2 urinals. Never a line for a shower, and actually, I've hardly ever been in 1 shower while another person was in the other one.

At my college there are two bathrooms per floor, one on each side of the dorm. It's a pretty big dorm. But anyways, the most people I've seen in the bathroom at once was three...four tops. Chill out and do not worry about it.

Try my situation..... between 40-45 girls on my hall with four showers, 4 bathrooms, and 4 sinks. There have been times where I've had to go on the "short hall"(our dorm building is in an L shape) just to take a shower. However, for the most part, it usually isn't TOO crowded.

ok thanks guys and gals..., that really helped me a lot...no more worries for me i guess...i just had to ask that question and make sure

A question for the girls: Where do you do your make up and hair? I know it might seem odd, but do you do that stuff in the public bathroom or your actual room? Right now(in HS) I do all that in the bathroom because it has the best light, but I also have a vanity in my room where I store it. I know my routines will have to change but am curious to see what others do.

I usually do both in my room.... just a lot easier since I only wear make-up and the only thing I do with my hair is straighten it...

anvoice- I dry my hair in the bathroom because I don't trust any of the plugs in my room to handle my mighty powerful hairdryer, but I straighten it and put it up or whatever in my room. I usually do makeup in the bathroom because it has better light (you'll learn that most dorm rooms have TERRIBLE lighting) but if you tried, you could easily make it so your mirror in your room had the proper light.

how are the bathrooms in terms of cleanliness?

the ones in common rezes? waay cleaner than those where the students own their own and also have to clean them ;)

That being said, the gals on my floor don't get drunk and puke everywhere regularily.

our bathrooms are very clean.....not particularly nice, but clean.

and honestly, its not like you spend much time in there anyway :)
