How do the bathrooms work in dorms? It sounds stupid, but is there like 1 bathroom per room or is in communal or what? I visited over the summer but they wouldn't let us in to see the dorms (on the North Campus tour), so I never really figured out. It's not that big of a deal, but I have heard of different situations with different schools...some have 2 dorms (4 people) to one connected bathroom, some communal, some 1 per dorm, etc...I've had some bad experiences with communal bathrooms (went to a skate camp once where we had 32 13-14 year old kids to two tiny bathrooms and 4 sinks...heh). Not that it will make me change my mind, but I'm just curious. My friend and I are going to room together if we both get in ED and I think he can keep a bathroom clean, but I've just seen too many people who can't aim and pee all over the seat and don't clean it up which just annoys me with communal bathrooms...

when i visited north campus (more specifically Low Rise), i think theres like a bathroom per 3-4 rooms. and they are usually clean (well at least the people i stayed with were relatively clean)

some have a regular homestyle bathroom for the house (townhouses)

some have big multiuser communal bathrooms for the hall (dickson for example)

some have a suite bathroom, one homestyle bathroom for 2 doubles and a single.

Waiting in line has never been a problem for me in the big hall communal bathrooms. Everyone has a different schedule, and also, if the bathroom is full, you can just walk up or down a floor and use the next floor's bathroom right above. I don't know the ethics of it, but in suite style living, I don't see anything preventing you from using someone else's bathroom lol, and there probably wouldn't be a problem at all if it were just for washing hands or peeing or something haha.

and yeah the bathrooms are pretty clean, the communal ones are cleaned regularly.
