How many SAT subject tests to take??? (UC)

If I am planning to go to one of the UC’s (LA/SD), then how many SAT IIs do I have to take?

I am assuming it is 2 right now since the writing has gone to SAT I.

Then lets say my test scores are
Korean: 800
Math II: 770
literature: 600

Is there any reason to take the literature one, and would it hurt my application at all when I apply to UC’s?

For UCs you only need to take two, both of your choice. It's best to take the subject tests relating to your prospective major. They will calculate your two highest scores into their formula (SAT IIs count twice as much as the SAT I).

the UC's now require two SAT Subject tests in different disciplines. So, your language and Math are fine. However, LA places high weight on your Writing score, so you want that to be 700+. Or, retake Lit.

laurak: with the change to new SAT, SAT Subject tests no longer count 2x.

if you are korean then i think you need to take another one because native speakers will obviously do well on a test in their native language. I really hate people who take tests in their native language because they bring up the average so much for people who have worked their butts of to learn the same amount in 4 years as a fluent speaker. This is way it's normally impossible to get an 800 on spanish because the highest grade given sometimes is like a 780 since so many people get a perfect.

take ALL the tests they offer! HAHAHA

Agreed, I hate that too. For example on the Korean SATII an 800 is only the 86th percentile.

.... so dont take korean!

they dont even want a foreign language anyways
ur suppose to take a science once, a math one, and a writing one, but i guess now u dont have to take the writing one, so take history or something geeze
