How many schools can you apply as EA?

I was under the assumption that ED can only be one school and EA you could apply to as many schools as possible as long is it isn't like Yale's SCEA.

You’re right. But how many would you really consider? Don’t make apps for the sake of making them. Apply to schools you really can see yourself attending. All the time you see CC people applying to 15+ colleges. What a waste

My plan was to just find a few colleges I was interested in and see if they had the EA option and apply as early as possible.

The top schools I know of that allow unrestricted EA are MIT, Caltech, U Chicago, and Georgetown. But I would certainly never recommend that a student applies to all four places, as some are quite different from the others.

If you get rejected during EA, is there a point trying for RD at the same college?

If you are rejected from a college during the EA process, you can not apply again for the regular round. I haven’t heard any exceptions to this case.

If you are deferred, you are automatically placed in the RD round.
