I took Math II and Chemistry last year and got 800's in both, and this year I'm taking Biology M, Spanish (no listening) and USH. I think I'm getting in the 750+ range for all of them, slim shot at 800s (not as good in these subjects).

Is this good enough? I know 2 isn't, but will it be enough having at least 3 or 4 really good scores (for Ivy Leagues / higher UC colleges)?

3 is all you really need, you don’t want to spend all of your free time preparing for more and more exams! Go outside, read a book, join a club, colleges look more favorably on applicants who can show strength in AND outside of school

Why bother to take more than 2 Sat II? My kid did only world history & us history, got 800 on both. He’s got into Yale, Columbia, JHU, Williams, Macaulay Honor… Save time for something more exciting than taking tests, which later on may benefit your essays. Or you could challenge yourself by participating in national, international competitions. Recognitions on a EC commitment indicates your real passion that will make your app stand out.

The answer is two!

Depends on the school you are applying. Most require 2, but some require 3. So I would say 3.

Depends on the schools you’re planning to apply to. For instance, MIT requires that you take either Math I or Math II and Biology, Chemistry, or Physics. Some schools require you to take three subject tests but do not specify which are permitted.

Three would actually be optimal as you can finish in one sitting. Get it done the cheapest one.
