Applying to Duke, UVA, Princeton, Penn, georgetown, Nova.... and wondering if i should request 2 or 3 teacher recommendations. I believe some schools ask for a third if up for a scholarship ( have 4.5 GPA and 1550 SAT). Thanks

It’s time for you to go to the website for each of those colleges and make sure that you know their deadlines and requirements. For example, Georgetown recommends three SAT Subject tests, which often surprises applicants, because most colleges only request two.

You need to check their applications to see how many they require. Some colleges I’ve seen only let you submit two. If I were you I’d just ask three teachers for recommendations and then if you end up sending only two to some schools just pick what you feel is the best letter of rec. I didn’t get to read my teacher’s recommendations, so I just picked based off which teacher knew me better/I felt could compose a well-written letter. On the common app it lets you invite teachers to submit recommendations and then you select the teacher(s) whose recommendation you want to send to each school.
