How many times have you taken each? How many times is too many, as far as colleges seeing how many times you've taken them?

SAT twice, ACT once.
Usually it's best not to take the SAT more than three times.

I took SATs 5 times, never took ACT
I tool the old version twice, and the new version 3 times
never did better than my first time even with some studying

one time ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

SAT twice (and annother two before highschool for CTY but i didnt study and barely broke 1000). Yea, I wouldnt take the SAT more than 3 times. I think it is the norm to take it 2 times because the first time you are all nervous and scared, but the second you are more chill and your score goes up. Generally if your score is the same after 3 times, it will never go up because you have transcented different curves and different quesitons.

SAT once, ACT never. And I am oh-so-thankful.

SAT once
ACT twice
SAT II once, going twice (Dec 2)

how many times is best? As many as you can stand, if you feel that you can significantly improve your score
and you know, I could never make myself sit down and take those full-length practice tests seriously.

SAT - 3
ACT - 2
SAT II - 1 (2 tests though)

Me: SAT once, just before the glaciers melted

Son #1: SAT once in 8th grade, once in 11th grade

Son #2: SAT once in 7th grade

SAT 3 times (last time was pointless I think), ACT 2 times, SAT II 2 tests, 1 time each.

SAT : twice

SAT II : took two, going to take one more in Nov.

I took it once last year. It was all I needed.

One of my friends took it 5 times and also took the act. He got into Harvard and he's at Princeton now.

I took SAT I once, ACT three times, and I also took 2 SATII's.

SAT 4 times- old one once and new one three times. My overall score went up each time a lot so i guess it was worth it. I hope it wasnt too many times.

I took the SAT I once (didn't do as well on the math as I thought, but did so well on the reading and writing, which I'm normally bad at, that I didn't want to take it again(I mean like 800s good)). I took the ACT twice.

SAT twice
ACT twice
SAT subject tests once

SAT twice
ACT twice
SAT II once (this Saturday!)

SAT I twice (my score went down)
3 SAT IIs (in two sittings)

I took the SAT 3 times so far. Maybe I'll take it again. I never took the ACT.

is it true that if you take the SAT more than 3 times then they average it?
