What do colleges think is too many times to take an SAT? I took one in 10th grade, got a 2090, took one in 11th, got around a 2300, and I'm thinking about taking one senior year, aiming to get 2400. Will colleges look poorly at this?

3 times the charm. If you take your SAT more than 3 times and have no significant improvement between the 1st and last time, it looks bad. If you retake the SAT more than 3 times colleges will probably wonder why you are so obsessed over your score. You already got a 2300. That is good enough for any college. One thing you could do if you really believe you can get a 2400 is to finish all your SATIIs by June and over the summer send your SAT scores to all your colleges. Retake the SAT in October (I think that is the last date for Presidential Scholars) and if your score improves, send it again. That way, if you do worse for some reason, noone has to know about it.

wow good idea. Thanks for the advice; I think i'm actually going to do that. On the admissions ticket, can I omit which colleges I want to send it to and later put them down, assumming that I do score well?

you could do that but it would cost like 10 bux a school or something. you can change the 3 free schools to send it to up to like a week after u've taken it

but the point venkats makings that u finish ur sat iis and send those out, therefore the colleges have everything they need, and then u take the sat again and if u do better then send it (with the 10 bux) or if u dont then u just leave it and no one will see it

ps why are u taking it again u got 2300 lol

wait, just to clarify, I have a week after I've taken the test to decide which schools i want to submit to, and this includes the 3 or 4 free schools right?

you have a week after u take it to decide the free schools u want. otherwise the paid ones u can send out whenver. hoewver, if u leave the free ones blank by that one week mark, then u basically waste them for that time
