i am thinking of taking the sat three times before i apply to school.
will schools such as stanford or berkeley look down on this??!?!</p>
<p>Three times is usually the max before scores stop improving. It’s not unfavorable if you take it multiple times, it’s just usually unnecessary, costly, and inconvenient.</p>
<p>Taking it loads of times isn’t necessarily going to harm your application, but it might suggest that you spend too much time on tests and less time on ECs.</p>
<p>3 is the max, that’s how many times I took it and my overall score didn’t increase after the second (my superscore increased by 50, which helped, but that was all). 4 is really overdoing it.</p>

<p>I once heard an admissions officer say “we just don’t want taking the SAT to become an extracurricular activity”. lol.</p>
<p>but ya 3 times is probably the most anyone should take it.</p>
