How many units does the average freshman come in with?

Wow, I am only coming in with 12 units. LOL!!! Some guy in my orientation group had junior standing. Orientation 101, Julie's group. Everyone was pre-med, one guy in nursing.

Holy crap, the professor for math is atrocious? X___X I signed up for the only one left...

i'm coming in with 82.5 and taking math 33a (but winter quarter cuz the only professor left was apparently atrocious as decribed on the awesome bruinwalk.com)

Lee is one of the clearest and straight forward professors. The other is Wylie, who is part of VIGRE. He's taught 3B before an his scores is average.

I don't know why you are talking about. Lee is great, and Wylie is not on bruinwalk.

How many units are needed to graduate from UCLA?

180, I think.

Really? I was expecting more.

Thanks.

I believe so. The max is 216

What's the max you can petition for, and how do you do so?

I thought the max was 213+AP credits.

hahha i had mr. heinrich as well, for my year. Cool guy, I came in with 36 units. I'll have junior standing after my course credit clears.

i have 65.5!

Oh, might be old, but Wylie is an OK teacher. Enthusiastic, but his concepts do come unclear sometimes.

I came in with 55 units.

I-PLACED-INTO-HIGHER-LEVEL-CLASSES-YOU-SHOULD-THINK-I'M-THE-****-CAUSE-I-DO!

This individual is a Freshman, who managed to get placed into upper level courses. Because of this, he will establish a heightened feeling of self-worth, and will consider himself to be a worthy equal to the majors in said department. Will bring up the fact that they are a FRESHMAN at every opportunity, and will become confounded when the upperclassmen in the same major aren't fawning over him or trying to suck his **** out of amazement at how awesome he must be, because he's taking upper level classes, but he's merely a FRESHMAN. If it is a language course, they will try to chat in that language, regardless of the fact that you won't understand what-the-****. Not because they're better than you, but in their pretentious righteousness, they don't realize they completely suck at it.

:p

Who the hell cares about how many units you came in with?

What difference does it make that you spent $80+ bucks on units that are useless and do nothing for getting out of classes except upping your class standing so that UCLA can kick your ass out sooner?

Who gives a **** if you're going to do engineering and you probably need to redo your science APs?

Or if you're premed and you need to redo your physics, chem, math, etc. APs?

Big ****ing deal.

^______^

^Yeah, if I knew that I was going to do pre-med, I wouldn't have done all those APs to skip me out of super important classes DX

Nah, it helps beat the class enrollment rush. That's all its good for, unless you're shallow enough to brag "OMG I have 95 units hella l33t!"

hibicuspink, it is a big deal.

i could probably graduate in 2 years (only 1 major though) versus 3 or 4 years if i wanted to thanks to community college.

But, do your community college classes count for UCLA class credit?

yeah, i placed out of quite a few ges (2 engineering physics classes got me out of the physical science, and etc) and major prereqs

literally saved 1 full year.

ya cc credits count big time... the one drawback is that one a cc class is recorded as credit, you cannot take that class at UCLA because it is then deemed a repetition and you receive no credit. this differs from AP tests where you can choose at which level to come in and still receive credit...

this happened to me in math. i would like to take 32a/b at ucla to refresh my memory but because i took the classes for dual enrollment at my hs and the local cc i have to come in at 33a.
