How many units for summer session?

Hi! I'm an international student, in my country i'm studying electronic engineering.

I'm going to spend my summer at UCLA (session A, 8 weeks). My problem is that I don't know how many units i should take for my session.

I am currently enrolled in 12 units (3 subjects, those are: Engineering & Society, Analog Electronic Circuits I, and Electrical and Electronic Circuits). However, i don't know if 12 units is gonna be too much. I'm thinking about to drop off analog electronic circuits to take just 2 subjects (8 units, the minimum to be F1 student).

I don't know if i should take 12 or 8 units because i want to learn, but also i want to have social life in my summer time, and this is my first time in UCLA and i don't know how hard it is.

What do you think I should do? How hard are those subjects? Do you think if i take 12 units i'm gonna have enough social time?

Any advise please? :S

Help please :S

In my assessment, three classes (12 units) during the summer in one session will not leave you with much free time, and little social life, if you want to do well in the classes. I would like to say that most students take 1-2 courses in a session, but some do take 3. Most summer courses are 6 weeks. I’m not familiar with the classes you have, so I’m wondering if they’re different types of courses that last 8 weeks instead.
