how many units?

How many units do students who want to graduate in 4 years take per year?

At my school about ~17-18 per quarter.

And is that 2 quarters a year?

3 quarters/year. 12 quarters to graduate.

That's odd the lady I talked to there said student usually take 36/year. 12 quarters times 18 units times $226 oos tuition is over $12k a year extra! wow

Typically 16-18 credits per semester. Here it's 135 credits to graduate, but at many it's 128. That's 8 semesters of full-time attendance.

consider that sometimes, full time students take a flat rate of tuition, so, say for example, 18 units might cost the same as 16 units (depending on the school)

Yeah, I'm on a flat rate.

ok I talked to some lady in the CS department today and she said a BS takes 346 units. that's $20k/yr oos plus the $17k/year cost of attendance. can't be right.

5.0 Mustang are you sure you pay per unit and for attendance? That doesn't sound right. 47k for tuition alone is crazy and no one would pay that much.

i actually meant to put this in the Cal Poly SLO forum. oops. maybe their units are different. But my calculations are still correct.

There must be some misunderstanding about the term "units." I know that at some schools, a unit corresponds to one hour of work for class. A typical 3 credit lecture class would actually be a 9 unit course (3 class hours, plus 6 study hours). 5.0 Mustang, you should look at their course catalog for the best information.

For in-staters Cal Poly SLO is a flat rate.

about 16 units/semester (4 classes per semester for lower division, 5 for upper)
