How many valedictorian do you have at your school...?

oooooh....i love how this thread went from being valedictorian to the true capital of Myanmar. That's hott. This is more important anyway...the valedictorian is stupid 0=]

RANGOON!!!

As opposed to one valedictorian, my daughter's school has a "valedictory circle" of 12, the top 2.5% of the class. She's salutatorian, but only 0.01% below the valedictorian. Nobody at the school really knows who the valedictorian is unless the ask around. But the only special thing they get is a blue & gold lei at graduation, so it doesn't really matter anyway.

im a valedictorian.. i think. but then my friend is one also so i guess that makes the two of us. usualyl there ahve been two each year and they dont necessarily speak at grad.

we have to speak at graduation and I, therefore, totally dont want to be salutatorian...I am trying to get bad enough grades to go down to #3....

In my school there is always 1 valedictorian. Grades are given on a scale of 100(50 is the lowest grade you can get if you show up to class, still an F tho. 45 for cutting and 0 for never showing up, although teachers generally just give 55s instead). Weighted grades can be as high as 101.5, which is near where our valedictorian has this year. He has taken like 10 AP courses and a few honors courses, and after thLThat doesn’t always happen though, last years valedictorian had a 100.08 weighted) At any rate, since the grading is so much more precise than a 4.0 scale, the chances of a tie are slim to none. I don’t know what they do if students are off by hundredths, I haven’t really asked. (Considering im no where no near valedictorian with my B+ overall =p)

I’m valedictorian at my school, lol. Ours goes by straight A’s, so there can be more than one. There’s 2 at my school this year, but generally theres only 1. Theoretically, someone in CP with all A’s could be valedictorian, but I guess it never happens.

Whoa, this thread is old. q:

There’s 4 valedictorians this year. None of them are really that impressive, except for one, because they took mostly basic/easy classes to get straight A’s.

One val. at our small Catholic and one salud., my D. They do not go by GPA alone, one of the considerations is ability to speak to a large group. I have to appreciate my D’s education and her being honored and accepted as a non-Catholic.

My school has 60 valedictorians. Since our class is so big (around 1,000 students), they give it to anyone with an overall GPA above 4.0.

My school does it by whoever has strait As throughout and has a minimum of 8 AP classes throughout high school.

We had 10 this year. I would have been one had I not messed around my first semester of Freshman year and gotten that one B in geometry
